Opening Prayer

Choose a member of your home gathering to read the following prayer out loud.

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

- Matthew 6:9–13

Play the following song.

You can sing along with the lyrics on the video or simply use it as a time of reflection.

Scripture Reading

Please follow along to the scripture reading. The text is under the video.

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

- Philippians 4:4-9

Play the following song.

Pastoral Challenge

Click here for an outline, with fill-ins, for this week's challenge.

Prayer Time

Here are three items to pray for as a family. You can assign each of these to a different person, or have someone pray for all of them.

  1. Pray for those who lead our government at the national, state, and municipal levels to have wisdom and integrity in the way they govern (cf. 1 Tim 2:1-2).

  2. Thank God for different ways He has blessed you since COVID-19 became a concern in our community.

  3. Identify some things that tend to frustrate you or for which you tend to fret. Ask God to help you deal well with them.

Closing Song

You can sing along with the lyrics on the video or simply use it as a time of reflection.
